Recharge is a mobile application, available for iPhone and Android, that enables people to book flexible-length stays at 4 and 5-Star luxury hotels by the minute.
How does it work?
Step 1: Find a nearby hotel
Open the Recharge app and choose a luxury hotel just minutes away.
Step 2: Book on the go
Tap Book Now and a room will be instantly ready for you to check in.
Step 3: Head to the hotel
You will receive 30 minutes of complimentary travel time that will start immediately after book a room. When you arrive at the hotel go to the front desk and let them know you are with Recharge. Payment begins when you are given your key, or 30 minutes after you book, whichever comes first.
Step 4: Self Checkout
The room, along with all of the hotel’s amenities, are yours for as long as you need. When you’re Recharged, simply leave your room and tap Checkout.
How much does it cost?
Pricing varies based on the city you are booking in and the hotel’s tier.
Recharge is currently available in New York and San Francisco and offers access to 4 and 5-star hotels. A hotel’s rating is indicated by the Premium and Luxury tiers on the app.
Guests are generally charged per minute, but some hotels do have minimum stay requirements.
When can I use Recharge?
Unlike a traditional overnight booking, there are no set check-in or checkout times. With Recharge, your room will be ready for you the instant you tap Book Now in the app. After you are finished using the room and the hotel’s amenities, simply tap Checkout on your phone and leave your room.
Can I book a Recharge in advance?
No. Recharge is an on-demand service that provides instant access to hotel rooms whenever you need a luxurious place to Recharge.
How are the rooms cleaned?
Recharge rooms are cleaned by our top-tier hotels’ housekeeping teams. They are kept to the same standards of cleanliness and luxury as their overnight rooms. After you checkout on the Recharge app, housekeeping will be notified that it’s time to prepare for the next guest. If you are still in the room when housekeeping arrives, you will be charged a $250 overstay fee.

Wait! Guests can check in and check out whenever they want? How does this help my business?
We believe in optimizing vacancy. Rooms often sit vacant for over twelve hours a day prior to an overnight guest checking in. Recharge gives our clientele access to those rooms, in between overnight stays, increasing incremental income.
Who is the Recharge customer?
Our customers are influential locals and corporate commuters and travelers, who are willing to pay a premium price to access a luxurious home-away-from-home.
Why do our customers use Recharge?
Customers use Recharge for a quiet, luxurious, and private place where they can take a nap, order room service, make a private call, or Recharge between meetings or before evening events. It’s a more comfortable and useful alternative to working from a coffee shop, fighting commuter traffic, or freshening up in an office.
Does Recharge partner with other companies?
Yes. We partner with tech, consulting and finance companies to offer both their local and visiting employees a place to Recharge. Our corporate partnerships include companies such as Orrick, Google, and Deloitte.
What is the average length of stay of the Recharge guest?
Our guests tend to stay for two hours on average.
How do I manage my inventory? Do I have control?
Everything is done within the Recharge Hotel Dashboard. Each hotel controls their inventory and can adjust their Recharge availability from the Dashboard in real-time.

Recharge is currently available in San Francisco hotels and New York City!
How does Recharge work for customer?
It’s very similar to booking an Uber. In just two taps, they can book and confirm their Recharge stay on the app. After booking Recharge guests are notified that they have 30 minutes of complimentary travel time to reach the hotel. Payment begins when they check in and pick up their key at the front desk, or 30 minutes after they tap Book Now.
How does the hotel handle Recharge bookings, check-ins and checkouts?
The hotel will receive a notification after the guest taps Book Now on their Recharge app. The Recharge guest will be instructed to pick up their key at the front desk. When they arrive the hotel staff will check them in on the PMS.
Checkout is handled directly through the app. All hotel managers—including housekeeping managers—will be notified via email when a Recharge guest has ended their stay. Housekeeping can then send an attendant to clean the room. Front desk staff should also make sure to check out each guest on the PMS after receiving the email notification. If the guest is still in the room when housekeeping arrives, there will be a $250 overstay charge.
In the event that the guest checks out directly with the front desk, hotel staff can log into the Recharge Hotel Dashboard and check them out on the Guest page.
How much can I increase my hotel’s revenue by using Recharge?
Hotels can make anywhere from $250,000 to one million per year in incremental income depending on hotel size and inventory allocation.
Can guests book a Recharge days or hours in advance?
No. Recharges are booked in real-time and guests arrive within 30 minutes after booking their room on the app. We work with our hotels to ensure consistent availability, so there's no need for customers to book in advance.
My hotel runs a very high occupancy. Can I still use Recharge?
A hotel can be at 100% occupancy and still have a 35% room vacancy prior to overnight guests checking in. Many of our hotels which regularly run at 95% occupancy and over are making an additional six-figure profit using Recharge.
My Hotel is Union. Can I still use Recharge?

How does the guest check out?
The majority of our guests check out in the Recharge app. A handful may come to the front desk and check out directly with the Front Desk.
In the event that the guest checks out in the Recharge App, the guest will be notified in the Recharge app that a room attendant is on their to the way to clean the room, prompting the guest’s timely departure from the room. The notification also alerts the guest that if he or she is found in the room after checking out, he or she will be fined an overstay fee.
In the event that the guest checks out directly with the Front Desk, the Front Desk agent will log into the Recharge Hotel Dashboard and check the guest out in the 'Guest' page. Just click on 'Check out' next to the Guest's name in the Hotel Dashboard.
For both cases, the hotel will also check the guest out in the hotel PMS.
How much does Recharge Cost for guests?
The guest price per minute will vary, based on the city. One set rate, for example, is $50/hour in New York City for 4-star hotels.
When can guests use Recharge?
With Recharge, guests can book a room whenever they want, day or night (subject to availability on the app). Unlike a traditional booking, there are no set check-in or check-out times.
How do I adjust room availability on the Recharge app?
Hotel managers will have desktop and mobile access to the Recharge Hotel Dashboard where they can manage room allocation.
How does the guest pay for their stay? Does the Front Desk collect a credit card from the guest?
No. Guests store their credit card information within the Recharge app. When the guest checks out, Recharge charges their credit card for the amount of time they were in the room.
Does the Front Desk collect a credit card from the guest?
Because the guest’s credit card is stored in the app, Recharge collects payment directly from the guest and then reconciles with the hotel later, which means the Front Desk will not need to collect a credit card at check in.
But what if the guest purchases amenities such as parking, spa services, or spends money at the restaurant?
The hotel will add the incidental charge to the guest’s reservation within the Recharge Hotel Dashboard and Recharge will collect the incidentals charges from the guest and send the payment directly to the hotel.
How does the hotel receive payment for guests’ stays?
Recharge will leave a credit card on file at the hotel and create a master account. The hotel will be able to settle the master account on a weekly or monthly basis, based upon the found revenue outlined in the Dashboard.
But what if the guest purchases amenities such as parking, spa services, or orders room service?
The hotel will add the incidental charges to the guest’s reservation within the Recharge Hotel Dashboard. Recharge will then collect the charges from the guest and send the payment directly to the hotel.
How is housekeeping notified when the guest has checked out in the app?
Upon guest check out, all managers including the housekeeping managers will be notified via email. Housekeeping can then send a room attendant to clean the room.
Does Recharge integrate with my current reservation system?
We have several integration options available. Our current hotel partners have reported that the Recharge Hotel Dashboard is incredibly easy to use!
